About Me

First and foremost, I am a mother of four wonderful children, three boys and a girl. My pregnancies were all great, and my deliveries were relatively smooth. I nursed them all for about a year.

I was surrounded by family and friends and had endless amounts of support, but that was years ago. Families no longer live near each other, and many family members work and are unable to provide the additional care and support you may need at this time. Your partner may have to return to work soon after the birth and would like to know you have the care that is beneficial to your healing process. This is why I became a doula.

I began helping friends after their first births, offering breastfeeding advice, and sharing ideas and information I had learned or gained from my own experience. All this knowledge is invaluable to a new parent, and I loved to share what I was learning with them.

The need for doulas is great. The postpartum depression rate drops when you are empowered with the knowledge to care for yourself and your newborn. The confidence you acquire with the help of a doula will carry into your relationship with your children well into their futures.
